New Hamburg ROMEOS Calling

The original purpose of the group was to bring together new neighbours who had moved from other parts of the Province of Ontario and also from other Provinces of Canada to our community of New Hamburg.

Initially the group was only composed of men from one street of the community but it has expanded to other areas as the need required. Initially the ROMEOS were run as a unique and isolated entity because the members had not been exposed to or were aware of the Organization's history and development. It only adopted the ROMEO name when it was found and referenced in a novel read by a member's wife.

The founding members then proceeded to allocate 'call signs' to each new participant based upon the Greek alphabet, Alpha to Omega, and grant a scroll to the new members.

Presently, we have 20 members as of January 1, 2013. This reflects a fluctuation of new and removed members from our inception. We may have to find a new alphabet very soon to maintain newer 'call signs'!!

Romeo Luncheon, January 26, 2012

Congratulations Romeos,

The trip to The Nith Chop House in Wellesley was successful.

Our group was small today, but what a great bunch of Romeos.

At this time of year we do lack a fair amount of members because
they are for the most part down south and away from the cold weather
at this time of year. Still, your fellowship makes up for this when we
get together.

Our newer members certainly bring much to the group; namely, Rick,
Bob and Jon. Together with Phil, our professor in residence, it was a
great outing.

The food was excellent and the company warm. Let's do it again!
