New Hamburg ROMEOS Calling

The original purpose of the group was to bring together new neighbours who had moved from other parts of the Province of Ontario and also from other Provinces of Canada to our community of New Hamburg.

Initially the group was only composed of men from one street of the community but it has expanded to other areas as the need required. Initially the ROMEOS were run as a unique and isolated entity because the members had not been exposed to or were aware of the Organization's history and development. It only adopted the ROMEO name when it was found and referenced in a novel read by a member's wife.

The founding members then proceeded to allocate 'call signs' to each new participant based upon the Greek alphabet, Alpha to Omega, and grant a scroll to the new members.

Presently, we have 20 members as of January 1, 2013. This reflects a fluctuation of new and removed members from our inception. We may have to find a new alphabet very soon to maintain newer 'call signs'!!

Romeo Luncheon, March 8, 2012

Just about a week from Saint Patrick's Day and all our members are Irish, either in spirit or as adopted sons of Ireland.

It's that time when all true believers from the old sod want to meet others who crave a good guinness and someone who will listen to their stories.

We have the true believers in Ken Mulholland and Ken Moorehead whose origins date back to Erin and the Druids.

Wouldn't you know it, but it took a Welshman to convince the Irish
that a good drink, a good woman and Christianity were one and the same.

Therefore, let it be known that our meeting will be at Molly Blooms in Stratford.

And now for something completely different!!
