Welcome to our New Hamburg Site. We are a group of men who have adopted the principle of our brethern ROMEO clubs and refer to ourselves as "Retired Outstanding Men Eating Out". Our community is the first Chapter from Canada to be recognized by The ROMEO CLUB Organization. We are delighted to be part of this outstanding concept.
New Hamburg ROMEOS Calling
Initially the group was only composed of men from one street of the community but it has expanded to other areas as the need required. Initially the ROMEOS were run as a unique and isolated entity because the members had not been exposed to or were aware of the Organization's history and development. It only adopted the ROMEO name when it was found and referenced in a novel read by a member's wife.
The founding members then proceeded to allocate 'call signs' to each new participant based upon the Greek alphabet, Alpha to Omega, and grant a scroll to the new members.
Presently, we have 20 members as of January 1, 2013. This reflects a fluctuation of new and removed members from our inception. We may have to find a new alphabet very soon to maintain newer 'call signs'!!

Upon arriving, we were greeted by all the waitresses who started the Can-Can
before they took our drink orders. The Romeos acted like the gentlemen they are!
Once all the drinks were delivered, we toasted our fellow Romeo, Jack Davies,
who passed away last week. He will be missed.
It was also the time to get an update on Romeo,Carl Steinman, who is recovering in hospital at this time. Ron Lewis, our beta member told the group of his progress to-date.
A get-well card was then signed by all members which will be delivered to Carl in the rehab facility.
Although it was a time of sadness, it was also a time of renewal for the Romeos, as half of our snowbirds had returned and all joined us after being away for an extended period of time. It was good to join them in lunch again.
With Spring here, we all look forward to good weather, good cheer, good food and good company on our future lunches.
A special birthday greeting to our own lambda Romeo who will celebrate the start of a new decade of birthdays on April 5, 2013. Birthday wishes to Phil Thomas from the Romeos.
