This was the first time there for all of us except Ross who recommended it
after having eaten there last week.
A total number of 10 members attended which was a good group considering
it was a bright sunny golf day for some.
A reservation for 10 was made for the Romeos and with 3 vehicles we left
Stonecroft at 11:15 am for the drive to Kitchener and lunch.
Parking was not a problem and we were soon seated and ready for our drink
and food orders.
We were joined by Harry McCarthy, who has just moved into the complex and
invited to join us by his neighbour and member George Heath.
After the first order of business, our toast, Ron(Beta) greeted Harry and after
each member was introduced proceeded to explain the rules of the club.
We then asked Harry to give a brief bio of himself. Although downplaying
his background, he said that he had come to Canada 60 years ago after being
in the RAF during WWII where he flew a Lancaster bomber. He subsequently
worked as a CPA for the balance of his work life before retirement.
Needless to say, we hope he enjoyed the Romeos and we would welcome him
as a new official member should he wish to join.
It was also a time to hear from John Matthews regarding his recent stay in hospital.
John said the procedure was successful and he should be playing golf in a few weeks.
As well we certainly were pleased to know that our good friend Carl was home
and recovering nicely. Our lunches are only complete when he is there.
