New Hamburg ROMEOS Calling

The original purpose of the group was to bring together new neighbours who had moved from other parts of the Province of Ontario and also from other Provinces of Canada to our community of New Hamburg.

Initially the group was only composed of men from one street of the community but it has expanded to other areas as the need required. Initially the ROMEOS were run as a unique and isolated entity because the members had not been exposed to or were aware of the Organization's history and development. It only adopted the ROMEO name when it was found and referenced in a novel read by a member's wife.

The founding members then proceeded to allocate 'call signs' to each new participant based upon the Greek alphabet, Alpha to Omega, and grant a scroll to the new members.

Presently, we have 20 members as of January 1, 2013. This reflects a fluctuation of new and removed members from our inception. We may have to find a new alphabet very soon to maintain newer 'call signs'!!

Romeo Lunch, May 2, 2013

Our lunch outing took us to Kennedy's Pub in St. Agatha.
This is always a special place that serves great food and beer.

The group of 12 arrived at 11:30am on Thursday, May 2, 2013.
It was especially good to have Carl and John Cornell back with
the group after their absence with other commitments.

Special mention must be made to the care and help afforded
Carl by John Matthews, Ron Lewis and George Heath. You guys
were awesome and much appreciated by the Romeos.

After the drinks were served, 'beta' made a special toast to welcome
all members and particularly Carl and John.

This was followed by Ken Moorehead's joke of the day which was
enjoyed by all?

We look forward to our next lunch and with Wray's sponsorship we could
be hosting some new guests and members soon.
