New Hamburg ROMEOS Calling

The original purpose of the group was to bring together new neighbours who had moved from other parts of the Province of Ontario and also from other Provinces of Canada to our community of New Hamburg.

Initially the group was only composed of men from one street of the community but it has expanded to other areas as the need required. Initially the ROMEOS were run as a unique and isolated entity because the members had not been exposed to or were aware of the Organization's history and development. It only adopted the ROMEO name when it was found and referenced in a novel read by a member's wife.

The founding members then proceeded to allocate 'call signs' to each new participant based upon the Greek alphabet, Alpha to Omega, and grant a scroll to the new members.

Presently, we have 20 members as of January 1, 2013. This reflects a fluctuation of new and removed members from our inception. We may have to find a new alphabet very soon to maintain newer 'call signs'!!

Romeo & Juliet Lunch, December 12, 2013

Greetings Romeos and Juliets,

The Committee looks forward to spending our yearly special
Christmas Luncheon with all its members and their partners
who are able to join us.

Reservations have been made at the Festival Inn Restaurant
for Thursday, December 12, 2103 at noon in the Solarium of
the Anne Hathaway Restaurant.

No special transportation has been organized for this lunch,
but the members can make their own car pools if desired.

Below is the link to the menu that may be of use and there
are always lunch specials offered on the message board upon
entering the Dining area.

If anyone is still in need of a ride to Stratford please advise the
writer and we will accommodate.

See you all at noon tomorrow.

The Committee

The Romeos and Juliets met at the restaurant for noon.

After the initial greetings and with our drinks served,
the Committee welcomed all the members to our 3rd annual
Christmas lunch.

Remarks were made about the 1st Christmas lunch when a few
Juliets entertained the gathering with their table top dancing.

It was also observed that the lack of insurance coverage made
that act an area not recommended even though it was seriously
applauded at the time.

After thanking the Juliets for their support, the Romeos toasted
the ladies and also remembered past members.

Our own 'Beta' member, Ron Lewis, then took the floor to entertain
our guests with his "jokes".
We all appreciated the 'Meals on Wheels' story.

'Gama', Ken Mulholland,  then rose to thank the Committee for organizing the gathering.

After the lunch was served, and further conversation, we departed for home after having a good time.
