New Hamburg ROMEOS Calling

The original purpose of the group was to bring together new neighbours who had moved from other parts of the Province of Ontario and also from other Provinces of Canada to our community of New Hamburg.

Initially the group was only composed of men from one street of the community but it has expanded to other areas as the need required. Initially the ROMEOS were run as a unique and isolated entity because the members had not been exposed to or were aware of the Organization's history and development. It only adopted the ROMEO name when it was found and referenced in a novel read by a member's wife.

The founding members then proceeded to allocate 'call signs' to each new participant based upon the Greek alphabet, Alpha to Omega, and grant a scroll to the new members.

Presently, we have 20 members as of January 1, 2013. This reflects a fluctuation of new and removed members from our inception. We may have to find a new alphabet very soon to maintain newer 'call signs'!!

Romeo Lunch, June 27, 2013

Our Romeo outing visited the Waterloo Arms in New Hamburg today.

It has been awhile since we were there as a group and with the humid
temperatures experienced this week, the Committee decided that a short
car trip would best serve the members, if a cold drink was nearby and available.

Menu

The menu has been updated since its opening and from what we ordered and
the response to it, was quite favourable from the members.

Service, as usual, was good and the drinks on tap were cool and refreshing.
