New Hamburg ROMEOS Calling

The original purpose of the group was to bring together new neighbours who had moved from other parts of the Province of Ontario and also from other Provinces of Canada to our community of New Hamburg.

Initially the group was only composed of men from one street of the community but it has expanded to other areas as the need required. Initially the ROMEOS were run as a unique and isolated entity because the members had not been exposed to or were aware of the Organization's history and development. It only adopted the ROMEO name when it was found and referenced in a novel read by a member's wife.

The founding members then proceeded to allocate 'call signs' to each new participant based upon the Greek alphabet, Alpha to Omega, and grant a scroll to the new members.

Presently, we have 20 members as of January 1, 2013. This reflects a fluctuation of new and removed members from our inception. We may have to find a new alphabet very soon to maintain newer 'call signs'!!

Romeo Lunch, August 9, 2012

This Thursday, the members decided to lunch at Kennedy's Pub in St. Agatha.

It has been awhile since we last visited this cosy Irish pub and its great beers.

We placed our orders with Suzette and were seated before any of the regulars
arrived. It's like we all know each other even though it has been some time since we were there.

As usual, the food is great and the beer, wine, etc. was refreshing. We even had
members order a Bloody Mary as well as the normal Wisener and pepsi.

Thanks to John Fenwick and Carl who drove the members to lunch where we met Phil after his appointment.
