New Hamburg ROMEOS Calling

The original purpose of the group was to bring together new neighbours who had moved from other parts of the Province of Ontario and also from other Provinces of Canada to our community of New Hamburg.

Initially the group was only composed of men from one street of the community but it has expanded to other areas as the need required. Initially the ROMEOS were run as a unique and isolated entity because the members had not been exposed to or were aware of the Organization's history and development. It only adopted the ROMEO name when it was found and referenced in a novel read by a member's wife.

The founding members then proceeded to allocate 'call signs' to each new participant based upon the Greek alphabet, Alpha to Omega, and grant a scroll to the new members.

Presently, we have 20 members as of January 1, 2013. This reflects a fluctuation of new and removed members from our inception. We may have to find a new alphabet very soon to maintain newer 'call signs'!!

Romeo Luncheon, April 5, 2012

Welcome all Romeos to the new Waterloo Arms in New Hamburg.

We have waited patiently for this satellite pub to open for a number
of months.

As the off-shoot of the Williamsburg Arms in Kitchener it promises to
be as good as the main location.

This lunch was organized by Beta, Ron Lewis, who was able to find 12
eager members to join us on the initial lunch.

With Dennis and Jack well looked after by the group, we sat down in the middle of the pub at tables to accommodate the members.

Since it was also member Phil's birthday on that day, we treated him to
lunch and brew which also included a great dessert.

The ambiance and food were as we expected for this pub and
the service attentive. For only being actually open for 1 week at that time, we were  pleasantly surprised how well everything was done.

This is just what New Hamburg needed; a brand new pub with lovely decor and great food including pub grub.

This is one place that we will visit on a regular basis.
